The P-1024 Navy V-22 Hangar at Naval Base Coronado is a 132,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art maintenance facility purpose-built to support the U.S. Navy’s transition from the C-2 Greyhound to the advanced CMV-22B Osprey for Carrier Onboard Delivery (COD) missions. This two-story, steel-framed structure accommodates the operational and training needs of two CMV-22B squadrons—VRM-30 and VRM-50.
The hangar provides capacity for six CMV-22B aircraft—five in flight-ready configuration and one in stowed configuration—and includes high-bay aircraft maintenance areas, aviation support shops (tool issue, airframes, avionics, armament, and corrosion control), and secure storage for mission kits, auxiliary tanks, and reusable crates.
Each squadron has dedicated space to support its unique mission requirements, including command and executive offices, medical and administrative spaces, ready rooms, briefing rooms, and conference facilities. The facility is designed with multi-functional shop areas and non-shared support infrastructure to ensure operational efficiency and security.
As a cornerstone in the Navy's modernization of fleet logistics and resupply capabilities, this project ensures the safe and efficient maintenance of CMV-22B aircraft while supporting long-term mission readiness and squadron training initiatives.
