UCSD Koman Family Outpatient Pavilion
Project Description

The Koman Family Outpatient Pavilion is a newly constructed, four-story, 156,834-square-foot clinical facility located on the UC San Diego Health campus in La Jolla. Designed to expand outpatient services, the pavilion features eight surgical suites, advanced and basic imaging capabilities, physical therapy, pain management, infusion therapy, and apheresis services.

Delivered as a Design-Assist project to OSHPD-3 standards, the facility integrates a high level of technical systems including high-voltage electrical switching, emergency power generation, and sophisticated lighting controls. Construction was performed adjacent to active OSHPD-1 facilities and the existing Cancer Center, necessitating careful coordination and demolition of an existing parking area and pedestrian walkway. All MEP underground utilities and building infrastructure were developed using full Building Information Modeling (BIM) coordination to ensure precision and integration throughout the project lifecycle.
