Desert Regional Medical Center
Desert Regional Medical Center
Project Description

Working in conjunction with the PENTA Building Group, Baker Electric completed a 415 kW solar system carport project at Desert Regional Medical Center. The structural steel solar carports cover 176 parking spaces and has 22 shade structures facilitating 22 PV arrays with a PV surface area of approximately 30,586 SF. The PV system consists of 1,694 Solar World panels which are estimated to produce 370 kW of electricity. Every inverter is monitored individually, allowing the integrator to diagnose problems at the module level, this significantly reduces field troubleshooting.

The Desert Regional Medical Center healthcare facility serves the Southern California desert area around Palm Springs, they were motivated to install the solar carports by environmental concerns and the rising cost of energy. At the time of installation (completed in August 2011) it was the largest commercial Enphase system installed to date.
