Baker Electric installed a new 12kV power supply to the active Grossmont Community College campus. This installation also included a new infrastructure loop providing power conduits and cabling to multiple buildings on campus, as well as 13 manholes with a conduit system. The scope also required regrade and replacement of 1,500 feet of campus roadways.

The system consists of: Installation of six Owner provided power boxes and two cooling boxes required for the DC charging system. Installation of twelve Owner provided 350 kW DC charging units. Installation of one Owner provided low voltage Switchgear Lineup. Two Owner provided Rectifier Transformers and one Unitized Substation Transformer. Installation of twelve Owner provided 1932 kW and one 9.6 kW AC user units SCE conductor infrastructure and equipment pads.

This 3,484,800 SF project included the installation of new shore power feed from substation to berth 2, as well as the installation of MV cable, new vaults, transformer, switchgear, substation modifications, programming, splicing, and terminations. Baker Electric had to ensure minimal impact was made to shipyard logistics and production within the active shipyard, which required schedule coordination of multiple departments.

A new 3-story, 86,000 SF medical office building for the Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group. This project supports twenty-one medical clinics including: radiology, laboratory, pharmacy, optometry, family medicine, OB-GYN, pediatrics, physical therapy, and others. The project includes overall development of the 5.6-acre site and includes 420 on-grade parking spaces.
